Boy Killed Parents to Play Halo 3

My god! Thats insane! And of course they try to make it seem like the video games fault, It's crazy, but it's nothing short of this kids fault. Everytime violence is associated with a gamer they find a way to make the game look bad..

Bad stuff man.. that's crazy.

...because of a snowboarding accident that resulted in a severe staph infection.

He was homebound for a year with nothing to do but watch television and play video games.

Because that makes it okay to shoot someone.

Exactly. This kid just has issues. I wonder if the way his parents raised him has anything to do with it. His dad being a minister might have tried to block him from normal stuff ultimately making him a rebel, killing your mother is something I can't even comprehend..

I read this earlier today, unbelievable.

I'm sorry the game had nothing to do with it, the kid was a ****ing psycho.

It's bull when people blame all the violence in the world on video games. Just like the Columbine incident, I believe people said that violent games and heavy metal caused it, even though on April 20, 1999 I believe the president issued an air strike overseas.

Would it have happened if there was no gun in the house.
I am pretty sure the gun wasn't the issue. The kid wanted to kill both his parents. I am sure he would have done it a different way if there wasn't a gun. I mean, who picks up a gun and says to themselves "Today I am going to kill my parents"?

There you go,no gun maybe his mum would still be alive.

I really disagree with you here, like Moto said, the kid would have found another way to do it, it wasn't the gun. The kid obviously had extreme anger issues, there wasn't one thing that led to this, it was a combination of all the circumstances, blaming the weapon is ridiculous.

Its not the games fault, that was just a spark. It could have been anything they took from him, it was basically a formulaic process that led up to the murder.
1. Kid isn't allow to have object
2. Kids gets it through other means
3. Kid gets caught and gets said object taken
4. An irrational anger-fueled teen decides to take revenge

This kid obviously had issues way beyond the game but of course the media tacks on "violent video game" so they can blame something other than the kid because nowadays nothing is ever someones own fault, it has to be those darned violent games, movies, music, etc...

I just love this quote
Daniel Petric's lawyers also gave a short opening statement to the judge. They said their client had been under great stress because of a snowboarding accident that resulted in a severe staph infection.
seriously? sure hes bummed that he can't snowboard for a while but c'mon how is a lawyer going to use that as an opening statement to base a defense around? The kid has anger issues. My friend's brother broke his hand playing baseball and upon hearing from the doc that he couldn't play baseball until it healed, decided to hit a table breaking both the table and his other hand, he has anger issues, is not a video games doing.
