Blue Screen Of Death

Hi guys, i have a very unfortunate incident tonight. I was downloading a few images from limewire and i installed a new program called folder lock. When I finished, I leaned back to take a break. I then heard the music from my iTunes skip really fast I new exactly what was going to happen. The dread BSOD showed up and the machine restarted. I really hope my PC isn't broken. Its seems ok now, but when I logged back in, it showed up with a message about an unexpected shutdown. It then gave me the option to see if a solution was availible and I clicked yes. It then dissappeared and I dont know what to do.

It shouldn't be any problem. We all get similar BSODs at one time or another.

i was told that BSOD's are like heart attacks. Eventually It will kill you......... after several.... I really am wondering what could of happened. Any ideas?

BSOD's are usually hardware related. If you really want to dig deep, re-seat all your hardware or check it with various scans.

Actually Dudes, can someone tell me if there is a way to find out what the blue screen message said? a log maybe? just so i can stick it in on google and see what the problem was. Anything on my computer that will store the blue screen message?

ok it only said...

Windows has experienced an unexpected shutdown...
bla bla bla useless stuff here...

Its nothing to worry about, it happens when my power flickers, or when i pull the cord out of the wall... sometimes when i even just turn my comp back on, and i didnt do anything. again... its fine...

btw, grats on 50th post

I'm not saying it is for sure, but it's the most 'popular' reason for one to happen. It might not even be your processor, it might have been your graphics card.
They are hardware related errors. Maybe your RAM wasn't dumping correctly and caused the BSOD. The only way to pinpoint the BSOD is to get the error and look it up.
