Hey guys haven't been on here in a while. Last time I built a computer for myself it was april 2008. I am selling my old computer and ready to build a new one. The last computer I had was an AMD chip computer. I want to build an Itel rig this time can someone give me advice as to what motherboard cpu etc etc. I will be using this computer mostly for surfing the net etc but I do play games occasionally. My budget for the whole set up would be in the 700 - 800 dollar range. Thank you in advance.

Nice make man

N3crosis build nice too. Quad system cheaper than the Dual Core I put together.

A couple good options though, to mix and match with maybe. :)

So should I go quad core? Also I am hearing that the 775 socket is on its way out should I try to get a Mobo with a different socket? Thanks for all the help thus far.

You'll be fine for quite some time with a socket 775. The 1366 just came out so it's not like the 775 will disappear overnight.

I would go with the quad, definitely.

hey guys another question no matter which mobo i get intel or amd can i take my old video card out of my computer and use it in the new one its a evga 8800 gt the person i am selling my old computer to won't need the video card i think the video card on the mobo would suffice for them?

Just make sure to tell them that you are taking out the 8800gt before you sell it to them;)

Also what are some good video cards now days I am used to Nvidia hence the 8800 Gt in my last computer but how are ATI and which ones would be good choices if I chose to buy another video card instead of using my old one?
