Gpu dilema!!!!

HELP!!!

im buying a 1200watt psu pushing 40 amps on ech 12volt rail (4) and i want to run either

4890 in crossfire

or

gtx 285 in sli

give me your verdicts, i included my psu spec as i know some people question the psu's ability....

i want to beat the gtx 295 big time!

1200W? A little excessive are we, considering a 750W pcpower&cooling would push either of those easily:P

GTX285 in sli would be the better choice of the two, but if your motherboard supports it you could do three 4890's for the price of 285's and those would easily beat the GTX285's in sli. Looking on overclockers, the xfx 4890 is pretty cheap compared to the GTX285's.
 
I believe the 285 in sli will beat the 4890s in crossfire,But it all depends how much more the 285s are going to cost i think.

the xfx 4890s are cheap on ebuyer.
 
cost is not an issue!

1200watt 160amps for £160, thats an upgrade that will last in my opinion!

i would like to sli the gtx 295's but its to expensive, i can afford it but i donty want to spend it!

gtx 285 overclock like whores and so do the 4890's but i only have 2 pci-e slots
 
Overclock like whores??? Seriously!

Go with the 285's soon as you only have the two pci-e slot's. 3 4890's would be awesome but isn't really an option.
 
sry for not replying, it was a bfg psu.... but im considering other options now!

i am ordering a Zotac GeForce GTX 285 AMP! Edition 1024MB for £244.98 inc VAT with another next week :)

erm "no" lol

if i was a millionaire i would be tri sli gtx295s with skulltrail etc etc, i just work hard and try save up a little

and i did tell my girlfriend that i was spending big this time to stop me upgrading so soon, i still got my peltier cooling to sort out yet

Haha....we just know this wont happen,we all know how fast tech gets outdated and we want to upgrade again.:D

You still got to fork out for cooling too :eek:...how much thats gonna cost?
 
Hate to tell you but the BFG 1200 doesnt have 160 amps on the 12V rail. I has four 40 amps max. rails, but thats just the max any one rail can pull without tripping the power supply. The total amps. on the 12V rail is 98.3 amps
