I just tried to overclock my cpu by 10 percent which is nothing , and now when I start my Pc i get a beep after 30 seconds, nothing displays, is there a quick way I could revert my bios back? or Im probally totally screwed now im guessing

Matt

10 mins? i just tried that for 5 nothing happened, okay... another problem I have is that my mobo doesnt support my cpu unless the bios are flased :/

I dont have a disk drive either, so screwed?

No take out the CMOS for 10 mins sometiems can take all night. Download the new bios and reflash it and then try again.

you seem to have a great setup. My motherboard is terrible, I really want to go 15 or 17, but im not sure if I could build a cpu +mobo+ram for less than 500.... could you help me pick something out?

or maybe is it not worth going to i5-7

Okay. This is all you should need to do:

Turn off your computer.
Flip the power switch on the Power Supply to off.
Press the power button (it will discharge any electricity still there)

Now, your computer should be off, and there should be no lights on inside it.

Wait for a minute or so, switch the power supply on, and then boot.

if that doesn't work (which it should, according to the manual for your motherboard), then do this:

Turn off your computer.
Flip the power switch on the Power Supply to off.
Press the power button (it will discharge any electricity still there)

Now, your computer should be off, and there should be no lights on inside it.

Next, do the following:
Find the CMOS Jumper:

Turn on the computer (flip the power switch, press the power button)
Press the Delete button, and it will go into the BIOS. Then, set the parameters back to what you want.
Once you're done, turn off the computer, switch the jumper, and turn it on again!

Here is the MB manual which explains the procedure. http://dlsvr01.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/socket775/P5NSLI/e2234_p5nsli.pdf

Unless you flashed the BIOS with the wrong binary (and I'm guessing you didn't since the MB came up the first time) you should not lose the BIOS upgrade.. The procedure above will only reset the existing BIOS to the original (upgraded) defaults.

HEY! since you have an asus board, you can flash it though windows, becuase asus has a program called asus ez flash, it works great i updated with it 2 times now issues, some may argue that it isnt as stable or what not, but its a great program.

Just boot back into the BIOS and "Load Optimized Defaults".

Press F10 to Save and Exit.

now when I boot my pc, i get no display and my cpu fan gets real loud and soft, Ive tried removing the onboard battery, tried to cmos jumper, nothing seems to work :/

I bought a new mobo+cpu just because i wanted to upgrade and feel like spending time i dont have to try to fix it, the mobo has been a bit quirky lately, sometimes I need to unplug and plug my powersupply in to get the little bastard to start

schw32m, i just saw your post, ive tried moving the pin from 1 2 to 2 3 and it still wouldnt boot, i just get a long beep when I start the pc
