Compatibility question

i'm planning on building a desktop, i was aiming for:
-AMD X6 1100T black edition
-Gigabyte 990FXA UD5
-Sapphire HD radeon 6870 1Gb DDR5

these are all i can come up with right now.... i need to know if these parts are compatible? or will i face problems? and which power supply do i need?

Thank you

That will work, yes. Look for 650w for a single video card, or a 750w for two cards, in case you want to in the future. Good brands are corsair, antec, silverstone, seasonic, PC power and cooling, or xfx. Look for some good 1600 RAM with 1.5v and the lowest timings.

what do you plan to do with this computer, cuz the 1100t is just as powerful as the same speed quad core in gaming, only fsx knows how to use its extra cores at this point. and for the psu ths is prob the best thing, if in america, otherwise i'll look for you if you post your nationality

the secnd is a better one but the first will do just fine, and both are from good brands too. do yuou mind posting the rest of your build, and links are nice too since some sights are either unreliable or overpriced so yeah.

the gigabyte is better, both as a brand and 990fx supports the new cpu line they just launched (but currently nothing is optimized for them and they aren't the best performers, but if you want they have them on newegg).

first of all thnx for replying.... i am planning on a comp i wont need to keep updating it for some time, if u know what i mean. i will mostly use it for gaming. i know that right now the quad is good but can u guarantee it will be after let's say... 2 years?

I'm egyptian btw which makes everything a lil more complicated. the thing is that my dad is now in japan for work, so i was planning on asking him to buy some components. ofc according to the price :)

and i seriously dunno the other parts which is probable i'll buy here which makes it even harder to give u details

well a 6870 is a great card but it won't be maxing new title now so in a year or 2..., you see what i mean.

also for a little more you'd get a lot more for longer out of the i5 2500k, it might even game better on a 6 core threaded game, itel is much faster, but remember, if you plan to overclock the k mean an unlocked multiplier and the only k's are the 25 and 2600k's.

for the price you will get much more out of a intel i5 2500k, it will last longer and perform better. now if you ever want to overclock you have to get the 2500k, if you never plan to then a 2500 is fine, the k means the multiplier is unlocked meaning easy overclocking.

then also the radeon HD6870 isn't the best card, it already isn't maxing new games, so in a year or 2 it won't be maxing anything new either in res or you'll have to lower shading and all.

is that supposed to mean 800 for those 3 or the entire computer? and the best card for cheapest to max everything now is the 6950.

if you can spend 800 on those 3 then grab the GTX580, it's the fastest single gpu out to date. (the 590 and 6990 have 2 gpus, like a motherboard with 2 cpus basically, but they cost way too much and have driver issues with some games) why not just either post your budget or your entire build atm and we can look at it all instead of just the three.

ok so the initial budget was 500$ for EVERYTHING, including screen LOOOOL.... so now im trying to push it as i can.... i guess i miscalculated around 900~1000$ all included. BTW, i live in egypt so conversions get messed up a bit :)

oh yeah, forgot that, can you just say what you want to spend in egyptian whatevers and we can google the conversion rate and figure it out from there, and i mean the total budget for the tower and all parts, and also say if it includes the monitors and other stuff too.

ok sooooo.... i guess around 5000 EGP all included

i went today to the computer market to see what things are in stock and prices. no amd processors ATM, the new shipment should arrive in a week or so.
what i came up with and what i could find:
-amd x6 1100 or 1090 (have to wait)
-Gigabyte 990 FXA UD3 ( is there a big difference between UD3-UD5-UD7? according to performance?)
- Sapphire HD Radeon 6870 (top card here)
- 1T Western digital HDD (only 1 type so no choice)
- 4G (maybe 8G) 1600 Hyper kingstone rams
- DVD rw
- power supply cooler master 650W GX
- monitor samsung 22"/23" LCD/LED (will see what's available on the date of purchase)

i think that's all ... dunno if there is anything else i can do.... are you sure this VGA is bad? i mean, i now have the Powercolor HD 4650 and i maxed out MW2 (except the resolution as my screen doesn't support it) black ops and undercover i had to reduce some stuff
