righto so i am very new to computer stuff but i have been planning to buy a new computer that will last me quite a few years without upgrading it. i have come up with the stuff below but am having trouble getting a retailer that stocks the parts and ships to QLD,Australia. Also i am at a loss at what case and psu i need for my current build.

Potential specs:

GPU:
- 3 x (EVGA GeForce GTX 560 Ti)

CPU:
- Intel Core i7-2600k BX80623I72600K Unlocked Processor – Quad Core, 8MB L3 Cache, 1MB L2 Cache, 3.40 GHz(3.80 GHz Max Turbo), Socket H2 (LGA1155), 95W, Fan, Retail

Mother Board:
- GIGABYTE GA-P67A-UD7-B3 Intel 6 Series Motherboard – ATX, Socket H2 (LGA1155), Intel P67 Express, 2133MHz DDR3, SATA 6.0 Gb/s, RAID, 7.1-CH Audio, Gigabit LAN, SuperSpeed USB 3.0

RAM:
- Corsair CMX12GX3M3A1333C9 XMS3 Desktop Memory Kit – 12GB (3 x 4GB), PC3-10600, DDR3-1333MHz, 9-9-9-24 CAS Latency, XMS Heat Spreader

Hard Drive:
- Seagate ST31000524A S Barracuda Hard Drive – 1 TB, SATA 6Gbps, 7200rpm, 32MB

After Market CPU Cooler:
- Corsair CWCH70 Hydro Series H70 CPU Liquid Cooler

Any help would be much appreciated :)

i was planning to order from tiger direct but i am sure that they dont ship to australia. also that was 2x gx 560 Ti not 3.

I'm not sure about your stores.
however, a bit of advice, Get a 570 or 580 rather than 3 560s. You will get good performance and not have as many issues in gaming, plus lower temps (= longer life).
CPU: unless your going to be doing CAD, Photoshop, or the like, then get a 2500k. They are built on the same chip, just without HT which ain't much help elsewhere.
RAM: Dual channel ram is what you need. For 12 GB, get 2x4 and 2x1 GB, not 3x4, as that will cause a single channel setup, causing bad performance.

ok thx man, just to put it in perspective, what is the difference in GHz between the 2600k that i posted and the 2500k before overclocking? - just to make sure, that is an i7 proccessor?

Also i was looking at the GTX 580 and what type of comprimise on performance would that have if i went for that over the two 560's?

do i realy need 12g of RAM, i was just thinking that if i had 12 then i wouldnt have a chance of bottlenecking?

BTW sorry for not replying sooner, i was watching man vs. wild haha

580 is 512 processor cores on a 384 bit bus. 2x560ti is 768 processor cores on a 256 bit bus. So I would think that you would end up with about the same performance due to the bus being higher on the 580.
In all reality, you are always better off going with a single strong card than 2 weaker cards. You will max damn near every game as is with a 580, 2 x 560ti you would too, but if the game is not SLI ready, then your screwed back to the level of 1 560.

2600k is .1 GHz faster at stock. This and HT however is not worth the extra cost for the minimal gain. If your worried about the speed difference, then just bump the multi on the 2500 by 1 and be there. Should be able to do that on the stock cooler.

RE the memory:
Try and get some that runs in a dual channel format, such as 2x4gb. The socket 1155 (second generation I5-I7, the one that you picked) only supports dual channel, so triple channel (3x4gb, the one you picked) won't run at its full capabilities.

2x560ti will give you 512bit,not 256.

2x560ti's offer more performance than a 580 at a lesser value.

But...what was said earlier, it's always better to get one superier card than two less powerful one's.

You cant double the bus/memory or any of it just because you have two cards in C/F or SLI. Each card runs on it own. You just get better performance because each card just has to render half of the info/data it receives, either in split or alternating.

Dont really get what your saying. If I had 2x 16 slots, and 2x560ti's, you saying I couldent pull 256bit/1gig from each slot?

Like what you said, it slips the load. But I thought when you SLI/CF you double the performance, or close to it.

You said two GTS 560Ti would give you 512 Bit memory bus. Each card memory operates on its own 256 bit memory bus, you cant multiply each cards bus or memory. Each card receives the same date but only has to render half of it. Thats what gives you the extra performance. Thats like saying a Dual core processor at 3.2 ghz. is really is a 6.4 ghz. processor.

ok so when i have one strong card running on stock cooling, it will run longer than 2 SLI cards. but since i have the water cooling, would it be better to run the two cards as because of the after market cooler they will last the same time as one big card? just clearing this issue up as i know the two 560 Ti's will outperform a GTX 580.

also on the matter of my origonal post, what type of PSU will i need to run this rig, and what case will i need.............it would be helpfull if you could point one out specifically as since i am new to computer stuf i have no idea what size all the components are and what size case i will need to hold it all(i am still goin to add a dvd player/burner if that makes a difference). thx for the replies by the way.

if you get the 580, then you can always crossfire when they start to get tired. And there's no competition between 2x560ti and 2x580s.

-edit-
just noticed I have 580 posts

Ok. Also since your from Sydney, do you know a store that would stock the parts I need and will ship them throughout Australia?........i do still need a bit of help with psu a d case.

pccasegear.com.au is amazing. I get most of my small stuff from there. They're outta Melbourne, so shipping on heavy things starts to get a little pricey. Where are you at?

Sounds pretty similar to where I am in sydney. Northern Beaches FTW.

after a quick google, i found this mob.

Their prices seem to be good, and they've gotta shop in the goldie.

For the power supply, you'll need at least a 750w from corsair, antec, seasonic, silverstone, pc power and cooling, or xfx.

^Thx for the info on the psu. I checked out the 'mob' haha but it seems no Aussie store likes to stock the model motherboard I want...maybie I could go in to the store directly and ask if they could order it in?

What's bondi like? Is it always as crowded as the show haha, I've been to Sydney a few times but I've never actually been to the beach. Anyway, still need a bit of help on the matter of a case for this rig.

What's your budget for a case? Some good quality brands include corsair, coolermaster, nzxt, and lian li. All of them have cable management and great airflow.
