I'd like some more racing games for my PC. Ideally I'd prefer a proper serious track racer as opposed to an arcade racer, but I like both. I've currently got Dirt 3 and love it, but I've been looking into the likes of Shift 2, PGR, GRID, The Run and Split/Second. I've played Split/Second and enjoyed it, but I haven't played any of the others.

Thanks. :)

Hmm for racing Games, I can't recommend any. but for other games here's my list:
-COD4 (community is dying so we need more players and need to spread the awesomeness of cod4 around again!)
- CS:GO when it comes out
- Splinter Cell Conviction
- Assassin's Creed ( all of em, otherwise the story is blurry and weird lol)

I'll update when I find my other game's lol

I've played a bit of Assassin's Creed and thought it was OK. I'll have a look into shooter games later but I want a good driver right now. :)

I reckon Shift 2 or maybe GRID may be worth having a look at.

Grid, turn the assists of and you have a solid, difficult challenge. Not impossible but uber fun. And the gfx are nice too. :p

I played through most of Grid. It can be annoying at times but generally a good game.
OK then - how's it annoying? Laggy? Slow? Weird physics?

forza is an absolutely incredible game, but i dont know if its on PC or just xbox
I used to own Forza Motorsport 3 and I now own Forza Motorsport 4 for the Xbox 360. :) I love it. I'd like a game a bit like Forza for the PC.

OK thanks. Has only one GRID been released??

Yeah GRiD is a one-off game. Not sure if a sequel is being prepared. Don't get The Run, apparently it's terrible. Shift 1 is also terrible if you don't have a steering wheel, believe me.
A game that's still in beta that I like is called Auto Club Revolution. It's an odd concept, but works quite well.
Not much else from me. GRiD is an excellent game.

Yeah I did have the original NFS Shift but I sold it as I didn't like it. I had also heard that The Run was not very good on the PC as apparently it's a console port from an X360? Looks like GRID may be the game to get...

Live For Speed

Auto Club Revolution (Not sure if you still need a beta key to access, but it is a very good game)

Cheers, will check them out! :)

Try flat out 2. It's my favorite racing game by far. The speed thrill is pretty unique, and it's hard as hell. Definitely a game worth playing!

Is that related to Flatout Ultimate Carnage? I've played that and it was OK.

Sorry I didn't explain that. You get a teammate that races with you. Sometimes you will win ans he loses so you end up being held back by the AI. You do get to choose your teammate based on skill but you can either hire and fire all your drivers based on what they are specialized in or you can do what I did and buy an extremely high priced driver and use him for everything.

DO NOT GET THE RUN. It has to be one of the most awful of the NFS games. I own pretty much every single one of them (I'm a NFS fanboy :p )
The run just isn't really fun, i'm just now finishing it up since i have nothing else to do.

Car performance's are unrealistic, they throttle you down in some situations to make life difficult and the reset system is the most painfully frustrating thing I've ever come across in a game.

OK thanks. I think I'll most likely get GRID. It's less than a tenner from Amazon so there's no reason not to.

Assuming I can max it out at Ultra at 1080p on a 5870? I've seen you max it out on an 8800 GT so I must be able to max it. :p Seen some videos of gameplay on YouTube, the graphics look pretty sweet at Ultra.

Is this on a console or the PC? I've heard from reviews on Amazon that the PC one is pretty poor because it's just an exact copy of the 360 game and none of the buttons have been re-mapped for a keyboard.

Do you have Shift 2 Unleashed? If so, is that any good?

Vista, do you want an open world,( like free roam), and racing, or do you want a just racing game. Because Need for speed most wanted is awesome. You can just drive around, and catch cops if you like, or you can do racing.

It is an awesome game but he already has it. That's my favorite racing game of all time.

I'd prefer a proper racing game/simulator such as GRID or Shift 2 or Forza 4 (I know Forza is only for the 360, I have it though). I do like my arcade racers though, but this time I'm looking for a simulator.

NFS MW is OK. It's an old game so the graphics aren't the best (but they're not bad considering it's a 7 year old game) and the physics are very weird, and it doesn't work well with the Xbox 360 controller which I use and I hate using the keyboard to play racing games. :/

the physics in MW are terrible, but it's so much damn fun. I might have to dig out my copy again and give it a blast. Either that or Underground 2.
