Sim City?

I'm actually craving to play Sim City. As I watch videos of others playing, and reading comments, I hear that there are still some odd cases of troubles with the game. There is no way I am going to pay full price for this game.

1) Anyone know of any sale codes to get it at discount?
2) Anyone know of any game similar for cheap?

Iv never had any problem running Sim City 4. As for cities in motion, never tried it. But I doubt its as good as Sim City gameplay wise. I dont even think Cities XL was as good as Sim City in some respects.

Truly speaking I love watching the gameplay, also the bugs have almost gone after series of patches. I was going to buy this, but requires a very stable connection. It lags a lot when you have an event in your city.
Overall a good game if you have a system and internet that complete the recommended requirements.

I have been bouncing around in Twitch with people streaming Sim City. Asking about various bugs. As EA has patched a few, they say that there are a few new ones that have occured. So I think I might pass on buying for a few more weeks. at least wait until the crave gets larger lol

Well now, after that pure wisdom, who wouldn't?

The game works fine now, is complex, beautiful and clever. Oh the irony.

Compared to SC4 it's shite :P SimCity 4 is an incredible game, and has a ridiculous amount of mods available, oh and it's not always online and the maps are huge, there's terraforming and doesn't have any of this region play bollocks.

So yes compared to SC4 simcity 2013 is crap

I am looking forward to this game, I just need to know how much GB of patch did you guys had to download since March 5? coz I will probably have to do the same.
I have stable internet but only 800 kbits/s, so is it enough, upload is 1mbits/s.

You're comparing a very old game to a brand new one.

How quickly we forget all the other games that you love that bugged out at the beginning.

They stuffed up for sure. I primarily agree with the author of your link that the maps are too small, and if its because its single core CPU coded then that is unforgivable.

Apart from the server issue, I have no other problem with the game.

Trust me, and all the noise? SIM players of all types are nutters. They get 2 games in 10 years and they're mentally in love with Sim4. Of course you are going to see all this nonsense.

The game is fine as far as I use it. Single player, max resolution. It looks amazing. I am also sure that over time these things will be fixed. Same as black ops, same as flight simX and so on.

Massive over-reaction from the community I think.

SC4 was the best.

That is a lovely opinion you have there, I preferred 3000.

I completely agree with oke here, the "omg raaaaaage the game is broken!!!!" is a complete over reaction. The game works fine provided you have the necessary specs, which includes a stable internet connection. If you do not, that is tough, but to complain is the same as complaining when your computer is old and no longer specced for the latest game.

As for gameplay, I have not played but have watched extensively, and it looks amazing, I have had my mouse over buy now so many times, but always stuck to not simply in protest over the ridiculous DRM.

I can understand online games when they need to be online, see MMO's, but for this, which really is just a single player game, having to be online all the time is just a means of DRM, but as we have seen, and continue to see, all this does is hinder those that buy the game legitimately and reduce sales, rather than reduce piracy and increase sales.

The game is fine, most complaining have not played it and they are just going off what they read on day one without giving the game a chance. Unless I get given the game, I for one will not be giving it a chance though because I do not agree in the slightest with such means of "anti-piracy"

I got Sim city 4 for about £5 on Amazon, and this is just my opinion, but I think with the newer one's it just feels like they have sucked the fun out of it, I enjoyed 3000 for a while, tried to play 4 a couple of times and just lost interest
