Wipe Laptop

I have an old laptop that is a disaster and needs to be formatted but I do not have the disks anymore ;-( I also want to make it dual boot from Windows 7 (which is what is currently on it) and Ubuntu. Is there a way I can wipe it, format, and start from scratch?

I don't want to lose my Microsoft office either (I know, I am asking a lot).

part of my reasoning for all this is, I miss having a useful laptop and its such a disaster atm it would be easier to just wipe and start from scratch.

You're gonna lose it when you format the drive.

Crap. Any LEGAL way to get Office that doesn't involve buying it? It came with my laptop and its the last thing I have that has access to office, which I need.

Only if you still have the key. You might be able to find a copy of it to install somewhere with the same key.

Download Magic Jelly Bean, and run it on your old computer. Itll give you all your keys. Then install your dual boot with Windows 7. Then create a back up of your outlook PST files and other files. Then follow this guide to reinstalling XP. http://www.wikihow.com/Reinstall-Windows-XP-Without-the-CD. Reinstall XP and recover your files into the OS.

Thats why I said I WISH. I LOVED XP. Never liked anything as much as that except Windows 98 SE. It always ran smooth for me, looked the nicest, etc.

If you hate Windows 10 so much, switch to a Mac and use OSX. I was a Mac hater until I started using one. I'll be in the market for a new laptop later this year and I'll most likely buy a new Macbook Pro.

Just like Comcast... I will go without, before I give money to apple when there are other options. I am working on learning Linix, which is one of the reasons I want to fresh install windows 7 on my laptop. I want a dual boot for those programs that I have to have Windows for.
