Unexpected Kernel Mode Trap. Need help.

See attached image. I got this error. We tried booting from windows 10 dvd and repairing. No go. Tried swapping the ram for good ram, no go. Tried chkdsk, no go. Tried dusting it, no go. Any ideas? Apparently the lady's computer did an automatic update and had the whole "hi." messages. It said outlook, etc needed to update, so she restarted her computer. Now every time you turn it on it only has this error.
Thanks.

Update: We've managed to boot windows in safe mode, but that's it.

Can't help much. But:
Bug check 0x7F typically occurs after you install a faulty or mismatched hardware (especially memory) or if installed hardware fails.

A double fault can occur when the kernel stack overflows. This overflow occurs if multiple drivers are attached to the same stack. For example, if two file system filter drivers are attached to the same stack and then the file system recurses back in, the stack overflows.
So if there have been any hardware changes recently, try reverting them. Or new drivers installed.

Otherwise, we need more details. If you grab http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/blue_screen_view.html and copy the results to a post here it might have something in it.

No hardware changes, but the computer automatically did an upgrade for windows 10 recently. I wish we could revert back, but in safe mode it just minimizes the window when we try to go into the update section of the settings.
The blue screen is coming up on startup. Will the program still work?

You should be able to run it from safe mode.

You've probably looked, but you don't know which update was installed do you?

I can't tell because I can't access the update center. So this program will capture the error even though the error itself happens before booting to windows?

It should, all it does is read through event viewer and grab stop events. You can do it by hand if you prefer. Sometimes the parameters on them can offer a hint as to what's happening. Not always though.

We're running chkdsk c: /f /r /x (or similar) right now and its' stuck at 11% for 30 minutes at least already.
UPDATE: It crapped out during the chkdsk. Now it's back to square one. I guess we'll get that program and try that.

If check disk has failed then the hdd might be failing. What brand of hard drive is it? I would run the manufacturers diagnostic utility on it. Can you access update and recovery and choose to do a system restore?

The hdd is from 2015 July. It's Western Digital 500gb blue drive. I'll look for diagnostics utility. Thanks.

Don't use the windows utility, you can download hirens boot cd as it has western digital lifeguard software on it. Download the iso file and burn the image to a cd and then boot to the cd and run the extended test.

Update: now when i power it on, i see text for 3 seconds and then the back light of the monitor turns off. Tried 2 different vga cables and 2 different monitors. Same results.

Update again: It officially killed the 2 monitors. They don't work on other computers now either. On for 3 seconds and then black.

Sounds like you have a major issue to figure out. Have you had any power outages?
We've been having power blips with I think 3 computers. We do have battery backups/surge protectors though. I wonder if it's the power surges or the power supply is bad? I mean I've never heard of monitors blowing like this. We're not exactly willing to try another monitor with the outlet or computer that wrecked the 2.

At the very least moving the monitor to a different electrical outlet. If you aren't sure about the surge protector, replace it. If the supply is from a UPS, it's likely time to replace that.
