Hi everyone,

First off, Im sorry if this post has been made before....

Just thought i would make this poll and see what the outcome was from you guys.

Who will be either buying or upgrading to windows Vista when its released?

Personaly i cant see myself getting it,Im just gonna get Xp profesional or Windows Media centre for my new build computer when ive saved up enough money.

If you are getting Vista please specify why.

Thanks everyone who participates in my poll.

Im most likely going to buy it. But i may not get it for a few months, since the prices could be extremely high.

The major improvement im looking for is the fact that theres not going to be a GDI, so games will perform 30-40% better.

i'm getting it
but after i upgrade my PC
one of many reasons is that it's gonna be more secure
it will use EFS instead of NTFS
that's what i heared
somebody correct me if i'm wrong

I'll get it eventually, but I'm in no rush. I'll wait until the prices come down, the bugs get fixed, the security holes get patched.

Unless there is some software that only works with Vista that I really really need, the only way I will get it is with a new PC. XP is fine for me. Heck, 3.1 is fine for me, for many things.

I'm not a gamer, so probably not. XP works just fine for me, and I'm the type to keep a machine until it dies. My backup box uses Win95 and still works.

Thanks for all replies everyone,

Im not gonna be getting it for the following reasons:

*Expensive

*Vista will be system resources hungry.

Im thinking about having my next computer custom built for gaming and i heard that Vista will need some 800Mb to run:eek:
Maybe im wrong but that is power hungry.

I want as much free ram when i get my new pc because ive always run into memory problems with past computers so i will probably just get Windows Xp pro or Media centre.

thats the thing, xp seems good enough already, though it is hard to predict the great benefits of vista when it finally arrives working

It always seems like that, before XP was realeased people probably thought that Windows 2000 couldnt get any better.

Vista's supposed to be power hungry only if you use the most graphic intensive interface.

And I don't think I'll get it before I get a completely new computer, saving up the money and gonna get some decent paying job for this summer.
