Im hearing this Oblivion wont run to the max with 60+ fps I heard not even the x1900xtx can get more then 60fps to the max. So this my plan what do you think guyz! I think I can play oblivion to the max with 60+fps with the help of 2 7950 videocards(2gigs of videoram total), conroe 6800,4 gigs ddr2 memory ram and the latest kick@ass mobo!! with 700watts powersupply!!!

In the forest you probabaly won't get 60 FPS, although it will definetly be playable (although an X1900 would allow you to do HDR + AA )...

EDIT: Reading over some tests, it seems like you'd get 60 FPS with that rig, although I dont quites see the point of your obsession just to get that frame rate...

Whats the point if its over 60FPS or not? You can only see like 24 or so.
The human eye detects fluid motion at 30FPS(give or take a few), but cannot detect any noticeable difference above 70FPS.

first of all, you can't run two 7950s yet, drivers not out.

Second of all, why? are you building the entire computer just for oblivion?

Third of all, why an obsession with 60+fps? I play it with 25 and its still fun..

I'm pretty sure the have the 7950 SLi BETA drivers out now....but hey, they are beta... I don't know %100 because I'm not crazy enough to wast my money on 2 7950's (That's like effin $1200 for a vidcard system!!! wtf?!? AND, w/ conroe, the system all together has to be like $3000+. WHY WASTE THE MONEY?? The prices WILL come down eventually...)

EDIT: Yup, nVidia did release them, here they are (http://www.slizone.com/object/slizone_quad_beta.html)

EDIT2: Lol,

As seen on Newegg Reviews...
(The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion)

"Boring"

Pros: Beautiful graphics but nothing that cant be done in a normal world maker

Cons: this game got so boring and repetitive that i threw it away. I was expecting something really good but it really wasn't.

Other Thoughts: bought a 7K rig and was sorely dissapointed

What a rich little punk. Probably a 12 year old spoiled brat that has no clue what makes a good game! I hate those 12y.o. brats that say stuff like "noobie" and "1337" and all that other leetspeex. Then if you vs them they suck and get all pissy and whine when you beat them. GOD I CAN'T TAKE THEM!!!!

I agree with others, over 60? Why? I would say 35, because as far as I have read at varois places and from my experances, its ahrd to tell much of a difference after 30ish, so i figure if your getting over 35 most of the time and it drops here and there a little you will be fine...

What I would like to see is oblivin on max graphics on reslautions something like 1792x1344 Wish my computer could handle that...

mine does pretty good on it now
damn you!
im pretty sure the XBOX 360 at 1080p only gets 30 or 40FPS, my friend played it once like that, oooo wow... 72in tv, omg... sooooooo pretty, it was like looking through a window outside. With demons.

A x1900xtx in crossfire wont even get that, that is probably what you meant.
And even if they did come out with the Beta drivers for 2 7950 gx2's they are still beta, do you realize how hot your case is gonna be, your cpu will be cool but by the gpu's dang that thing is gonna be toasty. But ya aim for like 30 to 40 fps that is all you need.
Still wouldn't be possible though.

actully in my FX-62 rig, they ran pretty cool with the watercooling setup i have now

i had 2x 7950GX2s, both watercooled and both overclocked
How did you run them, beta drivers? did they work well. And the thing about the watercooling is the more gpu's you have doesn't effect them temps as much because it doesn't heat up the air around all the gpu's.

i could use them, but not game on them both at the same time, even the beta drivers sucked, (i could use them, but they ran like shit)
