Intel Core 2 Quadro Kentsfield Benchmarks

It doesn't matter. Tom's a goof and an Intel fanboy, so don't place TOO much stock in his numbers.

Those are actual tests. Granted im sure they're under the same strict rules as intel was about the Core 2 Duo, however the performance will be very similar.

Nah, I wouldn't trust them. He has fudged benchmarks before. The guy is crooked, believe me.

I don't trust any one particular source. Read several of them and put two and two together for yourself. That seems to be the only way to do it.

Did someone already start a thread about this?

I commented about it in the 3DMark06 thread (since i posted a screenshot of the score with this cpu).

I also hear from various sources that the Quadro is coming out later this year.

I agree tom is a goof but every once and a while there is no replacement for 5000000000 different benchmark scores on a single chart x50 for the various tests they run.

Yes it is, however it can still be used in consumer level PC's.

it can be... i would rather use something that is meant for a gaming PC tho...

i am guessing games wont be good with clovertown...

for example i would rather game on the best Consumer Intel processor than Server Intel processor...

It would be great with gaming, seeing as how the Clovertown are two Core 2 Quadro's (aka 4 Core 2 Duos).

No 1: you put in the game, and it sees 8 cores and it thinks "wtfs going on here?"
No 2: Will this 8 core processor still be LGA775? or will it be a server slot for server motherboards? because server platforms are not the greatest thing in the world for gaming...

Thats very true, right now it would probably mess up any game or program that you try to install, since there still working out the bugs on dual-core chips. But once they do get the problems fixed, it will be a great chip.

Right now it is.

finally, a reason not to get the core 2 duo. haha maybe i will wait... at least it'll lower core 2 duo prices if i dont find a use for it haha...

It's socket 775 and apparently it's slated as both a Viiv and a desktop chip. Apparently it is planned to be used as a gaming processor. Interesting.

Im thinking this is a bit of a waste, we are only just now starting to get apps made for dual core, now we have quad an octuplet core.... its gonna be years until apps fully support 8 cores... shoudnt intel pace themselves a lil bit??? spread the glory?
