BF 2142 demo

Hmm...Does anyone know a way to get the game to run at 1280x1024? It's not in the video options(same thing with Battlefield 2).

This should be your target path under properties of the icon:

"C:\Battlefield 2142 Beta\" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1280 +szy 1024

Thanks, I think that worked. It's hard to tell the difference between 1280x960 and 1280x1024 on my LCD.
 
I d-loaded my demo from yahoo games, but I'm having trouble with the game loading. It acts like it's loading then it goes to a black screen and an error comes up? Any ideas? I've even updated my direct x and v-card drivers....
 
While changing between menus and sometimes during game play the darn thing minimizes to the task bar, at which time I maximize it again where it runs again fine, this is frigging annoying but does not happen often during actual game play. So anyway the game runs smooth as pie (loads a bit slow though) which I'm surprised because video that I've seen so far looked so good and I'm playing on an ageing 6800 GT.

An update... The issue I had with the game minimizing was apparently due to the video drivers I was using. I had started using more updated drivers then most of my games started behaving this way. I installed older drivers and the game runs just fine now.

I'd start by downloading it from another source and trying again. If then it still happens we can see what might be the problem.

Edit:

Actually the games minimizing turned out to be the cause of the F@H software. I'm going to take it off this system and run it from my wifes computer :). She does not play games (not PC games anyway).

Ok, I have found the best way to piss off the little pricks that play. Get in a transport, find an enemy that is in any kind of vehicle(besides a titan), and ram him at full speed. It's 100% chance of death for both of you, unless you manage to jump out in time. I did this during a conquest match and one of my victims decided to say some things that cannot be said here. He tried to kick me by starting a kick vote, but unfortunately I didn't get enough votes to get kicked. Moments later, he was struck again by me...
 
I also have a few problems that others have had.

If I minimize the game, it takes many tries for it to actually load back up (usually it just minimizes again).

And also, I can't run at 1280x1024, but someone already stated a solution, so i'll try that.

I dont think that would help, since I have that and I still have that problem. I'm going to try disabled F@H and see if that helps.

The issue went away as soon as I exited F@H. I thought it was the drivers because F@H was not running after the install. Later though F@H was running again and it started acting up. I then realized that F@H was the issue. Like I said I'm going to put it on my wifes PC :).

I disabled it and it seems to have worked so far. Im running the GUI version, how about you?

Yes I'm also running the GUI version. I considered trying the other.
 
It seems pretty identical to BF2 actually, just new objectives, weapons, ect. I like it, i'll probably end up buying it.
 
Still couldn't get it to work. It acts like it's going to load then it pops back out to windows and gives an error... Hum.....Any ideas?
