*drum roll* ..... new build (with list of parts!)

great. works. There is no difference between the brands that make the DVD-RWs, just pick anyone.

One comment though, your ram is kinda slow. Get something like PC-5300 at least. (667MHZ).

please dont bump after 1 hours, we dont live here you know :) someone will answer eventially

no for your 'rig'
Case - are you seriously think of spending so much on a case? is this machine for looking at of using? Ditch that over prices metal box, get something cheap and put it towards upgradeing to an e6600, the extra 2mb cache will be better than a pretty box:)

motherboard - as said your choice aint the best :D, dispite the hype the P965 still loses out to the p975x quite a lot on the c2d. Maybe consider something like

or even better
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813130051
but make sure its revision 2 (the power up version) as v1 had issues

ram = fine

hdd = good choice, but could save a bit on
keyboard = sigh, really... well its your money
mouse = could get same functionality for cheap

do not get the value select 5300 that was suggested by someone

Really, you must be kidding. The Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 is one of the best motherboards out there for overclocking.
