I just got my new 20 inch viewsonic VG2021m and its through a dvi cable on the correct resolution with cleartype enabled and its like there all all these tiny dots everywhere.
Maybe its my eyesight.
Games are fine even not on the native resolution. I know this cant be right.

Tiny dots? Do they just stay one color and do they stay in the same place? If that's the case then you've got a lot of dead or stuck pixels...stuck pixels can be fixed somehow but dead pixels will remain dead...forever.

No i just checked its definatly not dead or stuck pixels.
Its like when you look closely at any monitor you see this mesh, but mine you can see just using it normally.
In the monitors instructions it said to turn off your computer before plugging it in, i didnt. Could this have caused it?
This is really pissing me off.
Maybe its meant to be like this?
It just doesnt seem right.
Its almost like the screen is dirty, but it cant be i just opened it.
WTF?

If it's brand new and it's already having these kind of problems then just take/send it back and get a new one. Your warranty should still be in effect...and you probably should have turned off your computer before connecting the monitor...You might also might want to mess with the settings and see what happens.

If you cant get it to work I dont think I would tell them you pluged it in with the computer running!, Might have damanged the video card too!

Is it the same if you turn cleartpye off, ive had it on a few older monitors when you enable that it screws all images and text up quite a bit.

Also, can you take a screenshot and post it up here, that will rule out if its your graphics card or your monitor. If we can all see the "mesh" then its your graphics card, if its fine, then you need to replace your monitor

Just checking but have you installed the monitors driver? I know it sounds trivial for a monitor but some screens do like to jumble things about a bit.

Here's a capital idea, how about switching it to analog instead of DVI? And what res do you have it on? Extremely hi res will make a bad picture if you have a standard cable. buying a $50-100 gold cable fixes this so I've herd.....But that may not be the problem though...

dude, that's a nice monitor

i have an older 17" va720, and the thing looks ORGASMIC

something must be wrong

do you have the drivers installed? maybe it's trying to use an unsupported refresh rate or resolution

installing viewsonics drivers will dummy proof the resolution and refresh settings

Yeah ive installed the drivers like 10 times just to make sure.
Going buy what you say, if its meant to look orgasmic then there is obviously something wrong.
Guess ill have to return it :(

Well then you my friend have what you call a DOA product commonly sent into a process known RMA.
