$50 (?) So basically full price for a port of a really old xbox game. That really surprises me because you can get the pc version of 'Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay' (another awesome xbox game, easily on par with Halo 2) for around £5 ($10). In fact that was how much it cost when I bought it a year and a half ago.
I'm really not sure how Microsoft can justify the price when the improvements over the original are so minimal.

I was liking microsoft for a while then they did this Vista only crap. Screw them, Miyamoto begin the Halo knockoff which will be better than the original.

I've played in on my 360, and it was a decent game, but so was Halo on Xbox. However I absolutely loved Halo for the PC in multiplayer mode, so I imagine MP will be just as good with Halo 2.

I'm not really into the SP on Halo/2.

I usually don't trust review sites but it's quite worrying to see how many are giving the game such mediocre scores. It certainly put me off buying the game.

The common verdict tended to be that the action felt stale and that the game was showing its age. That's not to say it's bad, but then again, it's not worth buying vista to play.

The multiplayer side of Halo 2 is the part that still gets attention to this day, and it translates to the PC fairly directly. The game has support for 16 players. Halo's multiplayer moves relatively slow when compared to other popular shooters, giving it a more methodical, tactical feel. You really need to know the capabilities of all your weapons to succeed with any regularity, as at any moment you'll be able to toss grenades, fire one of your two weapons, or close in for a melee attack, which satisfyingly kills instantly if you hit someone from behind. Death comes quickly if you're left exposed for long, as your shield drains quickly and takes some time to recharge. This, too, forces you to play somewhat carefully.
What I bought it for was the multiplayer, I could care less about the single player. Hopefully it's just as much fun as halo was :)

I really never could get into Halo, I still don't understand why it is called Halo.

Because the world you're on is a giant ring, and when your on it you can see the ring "halo" in the sky.

But I believe it's called Halo because thats the name of the book the game was based off of.

The game came before the book...

Anywho, I wasnt impressed either. They literally directly ported it, didnt bother changing "press A to start game" to "click the mouse to start game". Could have at least thrown in a little bit more graphic detail also. The multiplayer would be more fun, if anyone was ever on. There is about only 4 servers with sufficient amount of people. And then you have to buy gold to do almost anything. :/

Im not dissing halo2 at all, I just think they had enough time to do a little more then they did. I would probably give it a 6 or 7 out of 10.

:D

Oh man I just got my copy of Halo 2 and it was such a disappointment. The graphics is appalling, it seems that the people at Microsoft is abit lazy, look like a direct port from the Xbox. So disappointed.

The graphics is [are] appalling

That's bad, especially after Microsoft said that they were going to make a solid effort to improve them. Remind me again why this piece of crap needs DX10???
