Canadian Here!! No newegg. Sorry.

This is the build I was looking at:

CPU:

Motherboard:
http://tinyurl.com/2uusxc

RAM:
http://tinyurl.com/369767

PSU:
http://tinyurl.com/3xa8op

Video Card:

Case:

Hard Drive:
http://tinyurl.com/2jqcoj

Operating System:
http://tinyurl.com/38f89r

Already Have CD/DVD Drive, Monitor, Speakers, Mouse, Keyboard.

Would probably have to add a couple fans, thermal compound.

Problem is... This comes out to $1200. The max I'm willing to spend is $900.

Can you guys help get this down to that? I want to use this site because the store is located close to where I live. And the prices are the same if not cheaper than tigerdirect.

So where do you think I should make cuts? and would you reccomend something different.

Also I'm Canadian.... You can use the site in my links to find better options, there is an online quote otion where you can see how much it would add up to.

Thanks.

Are the prices there in Canadian or US?

If it is in US $ then they are very expensive

Here is that same motherboard for $109 US from Newegg.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&DEPA=0&Description=GA-965P-DS3&x=18&y=30

Using the same parts you listed here are the rest of the prices from Newegg.
The CPU you want is $ 178

The ram is $104

PSU is $109

GPU is $ 159

CAse is $65

HD is $ 70

OS $115

For a total of $805 US

Only bummer is that Newegg will not ship to Canada, Sorry, should have checked that first
That would be $849 canadian or there abouts.

The prices are in Canadian. They would even out, but are still a bit cheaper on newegg. newegg is cheap, but I'm in Canada so.....

Tigerdirect.ca isn't so cheap. Same processor is $239

I'm afraid I don't have anyone in the states.

I don't know of any other site besides Tigerdirect that ships to Canada and has decent prices.

The site I have in my links is cheaper than tigerdirect.

Then your stuck! Sorry.

You have selected some good parts, and I wouldn't want to go any less quality wise than you have already selected.

Kill bill, are you serious? A notebook HD 5400 rpm in a desktop? I don't think so.

Athlon 64 X2 3600+? Sorry, not a selection I would make either.

Heres the case they use for that pre config system

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811108024

And it uses 667 ram instead of 800 ram, but for what you want to pay, still not bad/

I am usually not a fan of pre configured systems. But at least this one is upgradeable for the future.

Plus you will probably be able to upgrade to a quad core some day with that motherboard. And you will be able to upgrade the ram to when you can afford it.

That actually doesn't look that bad. Best prebuilt I've seen for the price.

Is there fan mounts on that case though. Thats the one thing thats driven me away from prebuilds. I can't tell but it looks like theres a removable spot on the side.

Edit: Thanks for that paratwa, I'll seriously look into it. Also good because I can just go pick it up at the store.

All I wanted was a decent gaming rig and that sure is one. Just hope it won't have any heat issues.

I just wish I knew who made the parts for it. Maybe you can call them and ask that information before getting one.

It has a side ducted fan and a 90mm rear fan. Not the best for cooling, but for that system it should be adequate.

Did you manage to find what motherboad is in there?

I'm also wondering about the PSU.

When you go to the store, ask them those questions. If they have one running look in the device manager for the part listings. Also boot the system and look at the info while it is booting. That might tell you what motherboard is in it.

If you ask VERY nicely, maybe they will put those parts in a different case for you, for just a few extra bucks.
