DDR 2 ram??

hi, i have a gigabyte GA-81945G mobo i know its DDR2 667MHZ but what is this EG: PC5400... and some others types

No PC5300 is DDR. You need PC2 RAM.

Either get PC2, DDR2.

Pc5300 is ddr667 memory, thus DDR2. Ddr1 only went up to pc3200, Ddr400.

PC5300 would be DDR, it would be PC2 if it was DDR2.

PC2-5300 is the same thing as DDR2 667, and the same goes for PC2-6400.

Here is some really nice PC2-5400 ram for you. Its 2 x 1gb not sure if you need 2gb but if your running dual channel the 2 x 1gb will run "faster" than just 1gb of this ram and whatever other memory you currently have.

I have never seen 184pin PC5300 RAM. In fact most people don't even bother to put Pc2-5300 or ddr2-667. It's usually just left out except by the manufactures.

They dont, the highest i've seen was DDR500 (PC 4000).

The point I was trying to make is that DDR is called PC2, and no manufacturer i've seen has left it out. If people called it PC-5300, then they are wrong, it's like calling it DDR 667 when it's in fact DDR2.

I really don't care what you call it, but technically calling it PC5300 is WRONG!

Lets forget the "2" then, so because were all so lazy lets call it ddr800, core duo, core quad. Oh heck lets just say pci for video cards sense no one uses the real PCI anymore......

You're getting the hang of it! Loosen up, lol. If the world ends tomorrow you're not going to want to say that the last fight you had was over RAM naming convention. Spice it up man.

But forgetting 2 altogether is a bit drastic don't you think? I mean where would the world be without 2? You've gone a bit overboard, Methinks, my friend....
