Also, I would be glad for any suggestions for a better component that would make it a gaming computer and not a piece of crap. The following is the list of the components.

id go with the 8600 over the 2600. Doesnt that case come with a 450w psu with it? I have the same case mine came with a 450 psu

Id get the 8600gt over the other one but id ghet an 8800gt over both of em.

Looks like a nice system but if it comes with a case psu I highly suggest buying an after market power supply.

That motherboard won't work if it's socket A, socket AM2 is totally different to socket A which was released a few years ago now.

What is your budget? Also, do you need a monitor, keyboard, mouse, and an OS as well?

Those parts are very outdated. PC3200 184-pin RAM is almost twice the $ as the more modern PC6400. Also your motherboard is not compatible with your CPU.

What is your budget? Comp Intentions? Need monitor/speakers/mouse/keyboard?

I agree with "Ramodkk". Those parts are very outdated. One thing you should consider is which games you want to play. Another thing is you will need more ram. 2Gb or more for gaming. Also which operating system will you be running? If you choose Vista, some older games might not be compatible.

Oh yeah I forgot about the OS. Nowadays, with all the modern games and Vista, you'll need at least 2GB of RAM.
