400.00 budget build for my daughter

well its time to build my daughter who is 8 years old a budget light gaming/disney.com computer.she plays Battlefield 2 so it would have to handle that decent.the only thing i dont need is DVD Rom, memory i already have some PC6400 Corsair.AMD-Intel doesnt matter to me i just want the best bang for my buck....and she wants a clear sided case like Daddy ..how sweet is that!

@zer0 c00l, I would recommend intel as it is basically the best processors out.. I would get a good type of ram like gskill or kinston off newegg also.

I already have ram ..6400 corsair xms 4.4.4.12 and i just want the best for my money. if you can build an intel setup thats great. i know nothing about intel chipsets or cpu's thats why its a build me thread...AMD-Intel whatever shes 8 yrs old lol as long as it plays BF2 shes happy and maybe has some pretty pink lights lol

= $378 and that assumes that you have the following:

Ram - you said you had memory
Monitor - Any DVI or VGA as theirs connecters with it from DVI to VGA or vice versa (if were luckie)
Operating System = Windows,Linux,Ubuntu
Keyboard
Mouse

Also you might need to buy a few IDE to PATA connectors :D or just change the HDD and DVD drive for a pata one (abit more expensive sometimes)

get a case that comes with a psu to save money, you wont need over 400 watts
a barebone kit may be your best bet here. let me give it a shot here and see what i can come up with

Yea she will. Honestly a 512mb will max out the 256mb version + A tower allows better cooling for video games;)

no to the CPU and no to mobo. clock for clock, intel is faster than AMD so you'll get your moneys worth going with intel core2. and for the mobo, ECS is unreliable and has a high lemon rate. are you interested in overclocking at all? an e2160 and low end p31 or p35 board will boost that 1.8ghz cpu all the way up to 3.0ghz

it is basically the same as the one UriA702 posted except it comes with a pink case with side window, which is I think your daughter would like more.

The only thing i could come up to improve this build was change the video card to pny 8600gts - 119.99 with 50MIR which adds 20 to total after rebate price.
