So I have 42" Plasma HDTV and want to know if I can hook my computer up to it. Do I need just the DVI to HDMI cable or a special component or program?

does it have a VGA input?

otherwise, get a DVI to HDMI adaptor or cable.

Yea I meant VGA.. It may have a VGA input but I havent looked yet. Wouldn't HDMI be better picture though?

wouldn't matter really, depends on your video card and resolution

So ive looked at my TV and there seems to be no VGA input.. Ive been looking around online for a VGA to HDMI cable or converter, they seem to be quite the spendy piece.

Anyone have any ideas of where to look?

They probably have them (DVI to HDMI converter) at Best Buy or Radio Shack. You can also get one at newegg...

Well thanks, but im looking for a VGA to HDMI, not DVI..

What video card are you using? Most modern cards have a DVI port, and that's the preferable port to use.

So I never thought to actually look at my video card to see if there was a DVI port, which there is.. So thanks mep916 for the help and recommendation on the cable :]

Just don't go to Best Buy, it'll be $50 - $100 there.
