Converting AVI into MP4 video's

i have something like 20GB's of video's that i would like to transfer to my ipod or my brothers psp, but i cant seem to find a program that will let me convert the video's.

i have a psp media manager that would let me convert all the videos to mp4 format, but my dvd drive is broken

so can anyone point me to a free program that will convert to mp4?

thanks guys! i'll try them all out and see which one i like best. i tried super earlier, but my input video was 700mb while my output was over 3gb lol.

Yeah, there are a lot of settings to play with, depending on what you're going to playing it on try reducing the resolution.

right. so what is the resolution of a PSP? does anyone know?
