Computer problem

Hi guys,
I have a computer that runs on vista. It's a 3ghz with 2 gig ram. The other day I open a internet window and it opens up about 30 times without stopping,and then all the windows closed. Ever since then, when the computer rests with no applications open, the CPU runs at more that 60% and the internet doesn't work or is very slow. Can somone please help me please??

If you can get to another computer with internet access go to
Download.com and enter Ad aware in the search field. Download it to a flash drive. Then Copy and past the install program onto your hard drive ..
Then run the install program. Also if you don't already have anti-virus software you can download AVAST free also. These are both really good programs. The best part is they are free. You can upgrade to automatic versions for a price but I have never needed to do that. I've been using them both for several years and they work well for me.
