A week ago, my heatsink fan was making a lot of noise. So I had the bright idea of poking
it while it was still running. Well, I must have had a nervous twitch or something, because
as I was removing my hand from the case, my finger jumped back in and touched one of
the fan blades. The blade ripped off and went flying - right after it cut into my finger and
left its mark.
So I bought a used AM3 heatsink from someone today. They never used it because they
upgraded. It looks better than the AM2 - it has some copper plates and pipes combined
with the aluminum.
It was so freaking annoying to put on. I spent at least half an hour wrestling with it. I
might have squished my CPU in the process. I haven't tested it yet - missing a harddrive.
