Hi everyone
My old computer died, and I want a new one. I currently have 2 options.
The first option, at 3500 NIS (about 920$):
-AMD Athlon II x4 635 2mb 2900Mhz Box
-Gigabyte GA 770TA UD3 (AMD700) - ATX - 2 x USB3 x SATA3 2+
-Samsung 500GB 16MB 7200RPM S-ATA - SpinPoint F3
-NEC DVD-RW AD-7240S x24 (BLACK) SATA - BULK
-Compucase 63RA case
-4GB Trancend DDR 3 - 1333 TRANCEND Original
-Hec Raptor Retail vent
-Power Color ATI 5570 1GB DDR3 - Retail

The second option, at 3000 NIS (about 780$):
-Intel Core 2QUAD Q8200 21.33GHZ, 4MB
-ASROCK G41 M-GS (INTEL 41)
-4GB DDR2
-500GB SATA/7200 RPM
-Geforce 9500GT 1024MB
-Intel High Definition 6 (voice thing)
-Some random DVD-RW
(don't know the rest, like case and stuff)

Both come with a Windows 7 OS.

Which would you say is better?

Thanks in advance

Neither. Are you from US? If yes, both are overpriced.
Are you after a gaming computer? Or PC for general use?

NIS = Israeli shekels.

Welcome.

I'd say both are overpriced but if I had to choose then i'd go with the second option.

I'm from Israel, computer related things around here are very expensive, some videos games are actually sold here for over 100$.
I'm after a not-too-serious gaming computer, because I'm under a tight budget.
So now we've got 1 vote for the second option. Anyone else?

OK, I vote for AMD for its upgrade ability in future.

video card would be slightly slow.
How much is your 5570?
You should have a look at 4670 GDDR3/ 9800GT/ 4850/ GTS 250. Although these not support DX11, but these are faster at similar price.

If you really in tight budget, one thing you could consider is downgrade Athlon IIx4 to Athlon IIx3 440/435. Use that tiny extra for the cards I mentioned (Or 5670 if you want DX11)

According to http://www.computerforum.com/178844-how-many-cpu-cores-gaiming-4.html#post1498456
It seems there is no major benefit to get quad core over tri for those common games
