Looking For Recommendations For Replacment Basic PC

my family is looking for a replacement of there general pc we are replacing an ibm we got for free years ago

it will just be used for web surfing.facebook games,email and to manage checkbook with quicken it also serves as the home base for our home network its connected to our router and printer

we are on a fixed budget thought the absolute max would be 400 dollars of course would like to spend as little as possible would like to be able to get a monitor with this also but know that might be stretching it

overall just want something thats going to be reliable and thats atleast is an upgrade in overall performance and would prefer something that came with a version of windows xp

Check all your retail stores in your area, but if you really don't know much about computers. Take someone with you that does. That way the salesman don't try to sell you something you really don't need.

well i know a good deal about pcs this computer is for my mom..i was just looking for suggestion maybe someone could find something online that i havnt seen yet

but big issue here is i need the pc to have run windows xp it doesnt have to come with it since i have the software but i looked on emachines sites and theres only windows 7 drivers for this pc

the only thing i can really think of that i would need drivers for is the audio and the display and not sure if you need drivers for the Ethernet ports but thats all i see getting messed up if i put xp on

is it at all possible for me to get xp drivers somewhere else online that would work for it..i need to find this out before i proceed further with it
