Anyone using that cooler? Im thinking of getting it at the end of next month, after my exams. My case is the HAF 912 so it'll definitely fit but im using G.Skill RipjawsX and im afraid that the fan will touch the RAM. Does anyone have a similar setup? Will the fan touch the RAM?

I did a build for our computer club supervisor using a Hyper 212+. It's a great performer, it's small, and it shouldn't interfere with your RAM... I'm basing that notion off of this picture:

"small" is a relative word....but it is indeed a very good performer for the price.

As for the fan touching, it depends on your motherboard layout. I have to keep my ram in the outer two slots to fit a fan on front. However the cooler is symmetrical, so if nothing else you can just put the fan on the other side, pulling rather than pushing. (unless you want a dual fan setup, which it's also capable of)

I freaking LOVE this Hyper 212 Plus.

Lowers the temps a HUGE amount. As for interfering with RAM, can't see it being an issue. It will although interfere if you want to run a memory cooler though.

The corsair heat spreaders might be an issue if they're installed in the 1st and 3rd slots. But just install them in the 2nd and 4th slot.

My friend has one and idle temps are 20-30c and never gets above 45-50c.

thanks so much for the replies guys. Do you think you could help me confirm if I posted a photo of my setup? (will be a while though. Gotta sort some stuff out first)

Great cooler for not too much money, but I ended up replacing the fan it came with with an enermax magma 120mm. Seems to be effective and quiet, but I DID have problems getting it to clear ram heatsinks on the 1st/3rd slots so I had to use 2nd/4th.

Absolutely. Doesn't seem like you would have a problem. I installed it in my friend's NZXT phantom, which is even narrower than yours, so it shouldn't be a problem. You will have to take out your MoBo to install the backplate, unless it has a CPU cutout.

I have my Intel Core 2 Q6600 2.4Ghz overclocked to 3.4Ghz and only noticed a difference in 20C load temps.

With Hyper Installed:
Before Overclocking: No load = 30C
Load = 40C

After Clocking: No load = 35C
Load = 63C

I think it's doing it's job pretty good.

Before hyper was installed, temps were around the 48C idle.

It shouldn't interfere. I just installed one with some Corsair Dominator ram, and it clears by ~5mm. This was on an ASUS AM2+ board, the specific name escapes me.
