Ok so i have an ordinary mouse with Left/Right Click and a Scroller.

10 minutes ago it just straight stopped working and i don't seem to find a good fix for it. I tried it on with my other computer and it worked but not on my laptop.

I've tried uninstalling the driver for the mouse, unplugging and plugging in again with no success.

Please help!

If it's a laser mouse does the bottom glow red when you plug it in?

It's an optical mouse and yes it does glow red. I've been able to use it now since i last posted but now it stopped working again. It starts working every time i restart my computer but after a couple of hours it just shuts off again.

I think it might be the USB ports playing with me... I just noticed that my USB Joystick and Microphone also shuts down at times and i still need to restart the computer to fix it.

This is getting really annoying as i play FPS games every day.

Anyone who might know what would cause my USB ports to randomly shut down?

What OS are you running? Are you on Battery?

I ask because the OS might be setting itself on power save (and turning off the USB ports). In windows 7 you can just type "power options" into the start search bar and then go to "edit plan settings" then "advanced" then "USB settings". See if its set to turn off the USB ports.
