Hey all my computer has been running like junk for the past couple weeks, As you can see from my specs I am not lacking in parts.

I'm assuming my harddrive is the culprit it has been really noisy and windows explorer keeps freezing.

Have run virus scans, defragged, spyware. nothing came up.

Please help let me know if I should order a new harddrive

What do you mean by noisey? What is making a noise? Have you tried running a diagnostic on the hard drive? What brand of drive is it?

Backup your data, reformat the drive, and reinstall Windows. I would try that before buying a new hard drive.

Sometimes when I try to access folders it will just sit there and make grinding noises, Obviously HDD make noise but its been substantially louder lately.

Only certain things are slow like accessing files from "My computer" it freezes but if the folders are on my desktop I can access them quickly.

Not sure out of an old future shop acer i bought i think the computer model was acer M-810 or something.

I will look at it after I post this.

What diagnostic should I run?

Btw: liking the 32GB ripjaws ;)

If its making grinding noises, stop using it, back up ASAP because you drive is about to fail.

Are you really still asking why your computer is slow and freezing when you just said your hard drive is making grinding noises??

Backup your data ASAP.

Your hard drive is failing. You need to back up your data, buy a new drive, reinstall Windows on it and then copy your data back.

Problem solved.

The only reason why I suggested the one I linked is that mine has a better write speed then the one you linked. Write speed isn't as important as read speed so its totally up to you.
