No display, power on

Hey guys, this is my first post so I hope I have out it in the right area.

Built my own desktop, in 2010, has still lasted me to this day never any issues till last week, I go to turn on the desktop but no display on the monitor. Originally I thought it was my graphics card, and needing it replaced regardless I did so. However now still no display. I removed the memory sticks from the motherboard and turned it on. Received the usual beeping noises saying no memory sticks were in. Does this mean the issue is with my memory sticks? I'm new to fixing computers and sorting out their problems so chasing clarity on the issue also.

Cheers in advance :)

What specific model of power supply and video card do you have? Does the card need any pci express power connectors attached to it?

Cooler master 850w power supply, graphics card is Radeon hd 7770 1 gb and has the 6 pin power supply connected, haven't been able to purchase new ram yet but hopefully I can get onto that soon

Sounds like your RAM may be dead. It could be just one stick, or multiple. Try testing each stick individually, see what you get and let us know.

Your description isn't very detailed.
First, do you hear the comp post (usually a beep) when booting up and do you hear the typical welcome once windows has loaded?
Second, do you know if the monitor still works?

most monitors have a self test, try that first to make sure it's not a bad monitor, if you have 2 or more memory sticks try them one at a time to see if one is bad, memory is normally guaranteed for life, so unless you have a shorted mobo it's unlikely you have more than one bad memory stick

I agree with this. I think your RAM is the culprit here if you know the graphics card is working OK.

Have you tried a different monitor?
