system administrator problem

Hi
I just plugged my sony hd video camera into my pc to download some video. I did have the camera's software loaded at one time but for some reason I can't access the camera now. I finally did start to install the cams software and the hardware was showing it was detected on my pc. However, when I started to download the software to run the camera I got a message stating The System Administrator has set rules to not allow the download from the internet. I am the System Administrator on this pc but I can't remember doing that. I went to the Control Panel and clicked on 'me' Gary, The Administrator and tried to look where I could change things. I got frustrated with that and opened my Internet browser and Tools to see if I had set anything there that would not allow me to download Sony software - I really didn't now what I was looking for there anyway.

So.....does anyone here have any ideas why I, the adminstrator of my pc, would set rules that would now allow me to download Sony software...or does anyone here have a suggestion how I could fix the problem?

Thanks,
Gary in West Kelowna BC Canada

was this working for you in the past, and suddenly started giving you this error, Or was this the first time you connected the camera to the pc?

also, could it be that the driver didn't download correctly?

check your device manager to see if you see any error's/exclamation marks in yellow once you have the camera connected.

at least it's a start to narrow the problem down for you.
