Unable to save settings on 3rd monitor

Hello, I recently have been trying to use triple monitors, but for some reason when I try to use the 3rd monitor I get "unable to save display settings" whenever I click apply

I have an AMD Radeon HD 7800 and am connecting using one DVI, One HDMI and one third is display port that has a dvi to vga connector connected to it, and the vga going from the connector to my monitor, the displayport is the one that won''t work.

This is the specific displayport I have, could there be a problem with it specifically, or are there other things I could do to test?

For a 3rd monitor to work, you need an ACTIVE adapter. Not PASSIVE adapter which is what I suspect you have. Here are the cheapest ones I could find.

If you are using a Radeon card, eyefinity (make 1 looong display) will not work unless all the resolutions of the monitors are the same (ex. 720p/1080p/1440p/etc.) But you can just simply extend the displays instead of using eyefinity.

Ah that is to bad, so the displayport I have is not active? Also what do you mean by extend the displays, all of my monitors are different sizes.

Oh my bad. I gave you a vga adapter but it seems like you need DVI. To search replace the brackets and word to what you need. "[Port] to [Port] Active Adapter". Eyefinity doesn't care about the monitor size, but rather the screen resolution. For example, if you plan on using Eyefinity all 3 monitors have to be let's just say for this example 1920x1080. If you don't have screens with all 3 resolutions the same you can extend the displays. Right click the desktop and click Screen Resolution (assuming you are on Windows 7/8) and it says "Multiple displays:" choose Extend these displays.
