Upgrading my rig

Hi guys. Looking to upgrade my custom built rig, but I did not build it myself, an old friend built it for me, so I am hardware naive.

GA-770TA-UD3*
AMD Phenom IIx2 550 processor (2cpus) 3.1ghz
4gb ram
nvidia 9800 gt
Raidmax Smilodon Mid-tower ATX Case
RAIDMAX HYBRID 2 RX-530SS 530W ATX12V V2.2/ EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Modular Power Supply, New Version with Build-in LED Fan On/Off Switch*

Is there anything I missed?

I'm looking to buy a gtx 770 4gb, but would a 2gb 770 it even a 760 be good enough for my wants?

Also going to upgrade to 8gB of ram, but what brand is recommended? And should I do two sticks of four gb or one 8gb.

I have no clue about anything else of what I should implement.

I have 2 btc to spend. (btc is at 460 time of posting)

I'm looking to play skyrim heavily modded on max settings, also games like bioshock infinite /CoD with atleast 120 fps stabley.

You might want to consider building a new system, those components are pretty outdated.

I don't know what 460 BTC is equal to in USD, but to play games like Skyrim, Ghosts, Bioshock Infinite on max settings at 120FPS you're looking at over a thousand dollars for a gaming rig.

Sorry I should have just said I have 920$ usd to spend. And I figured I would have to, but what can support a gtx 760 without a bottleneck? Also would my current tower be suitable for upgrades or do I need to buy a larger case aswell?

I'd look into the Intel i7 series, the i7 4770K is one of the best CPU's you can get.

You can also use the same case, a mid-ATX case is fine. I'll leave this to others to come up with a build for $920, I'm not really the best at creating builds lol.

Actually I'd get an i5 4670K and a GTX 770 or a 780 rather than the 760. No need for the i7 for gaming, but you do always want to spend the most you can on the graphics card because that is where the gaming performance really lies.

Upgrade option keep mobo -

ebay - look for Phenom II x 4 or Phenom II x 6

RAM - 4 x 1.5V DDR3 DIMM sockets supporting up to 16 GB of system memory
i.e. add another 2 x 4GB

Video card - what ever you like

Or
Use existing case/ HDD/ DVD drive. Upgrade everything else.

i5 4670K
Gigabyte GA-Z87M-D3H or similar
2 x 4GB RAM
GTX 770
Corsair CX600M or similar

May need new OS if you got OEM.
