I've heard it's fun but not really like a proper BF game. To be honest, I somewhat lost interest after 3

Its really no different to BF4. Exactly the same mechanics. Pretty fun though.

That is why I lost interest after 3. 2142, BF2, BC and BC2, BF3, all of them were different and brought something new and exciting to the series. BF4 and this though are just rehashes of BF3. There was nothing stopping em from keeping on with BF3 rather than making 4 and Hardline, the games would have been just as good but could have been done as expansions for cheaper and allowed devlopment of "BF5", which did what the other games did and actually bring some sort of innovation.

BF4 has been out how long, and they already have a new title in beta?

How long will Battlefield 3 be online?

I don't like the prospect of not being able to go back and play a game because it's over 2 years old.

I would like to see dedicated server tools released if they do take servers offline, it means the game can live on without the publisher (cough) having to pay for server hosting.

Quite honestly, Hardline should have been some sort of addon content to Battlefield 4. Seriously, you don't even get the feeling that your in a team of police or criminals. It's still just Battlefield. Maybe whatever other content they have planned will change that, but for now, the beta says it's just Battlefield 4 with a different skin.

£49.99 for standard,£59.99 for Deluxe,When its just a Modified BF4/DLC...

Just shows how crappy its become in our time with all this overpriced DLC business...this is whats killing PC gaming for me...EA are the worst for it.

Except for that BF3 has rentable dedi servers... If you have ever rented a game server you will know that regardless of age you can still get the game hosted. There are still UT, MOHAA, BF2 and CoD1 servers getting hosted and that you can get right now if you wanted.

But that affects consoles too, plus PC gaming is gaining ground atm and has been for the last couple of years, not losing it, mostly thanks to F2P and indie titles. I would hazard a guess that these AAA FPS/TPS titles that serve no purpose but filling time will be average at best sellers in a few years, because people's wants are changing.

The modern warfare setting is getting stale just as the WW2 was a few years back, and you now can count the number that have been released since WaW on one hand.

Its a good game, we've seen one map, and you can clearly tell its beta - even on ultra settings the graphics weren't up to standard compared to BF4, even using the same engine. That will change clearly, but its the same we thought about BF4/3 when those betas came out. Im going to play the beta occasionally, and then when it comes out read reviews.

I really hate what Ubisoft and EA are doing, basically the both of them have turned Far Cry and Battlefield into annual releases and its like nobody really cares. Sure a lot of people may enjoy these games, but it'll just lead to the inevitable fatigue of these game series. Personally, I believe that games like Far Cry and Battlefield should really have 3-4 years in between releases, and that's why have complete respect for the people making Batman Arkham Knight for delaying it another year to polish the game.

Ubisoft delayed Watch Dogs to "polish"... Look how that turned out.

Polishing games doesn't work if it means cutting back.

I agree with you, but recently games have either been staying on a level with their predecessors or taking steps backwards, not forwards. What next gen?
