Are cat 7 cables worth getting?

I am needing a new internet cable for my room. The clip snapped and it fits pretty loose. Still works but the cable has been used a long time. Its a regular off brand cat 5, 50ft, got it for 10 shipped lol. My room is a decent distance from the main computer room, why I got such a long cable.

I could get a shorter cable. But 25ft is to short, which is what most seem to be under 50 feet. 35ft would be perfect probably but I think thats not a common cat 7 length.
I heard even if you don't have really fast internet, they are worth getting cause of the quality of it. Here is what I was thinking about getting.

CAT7? I would assume thats for 10Gbps.

CAT6 is good for gigabit speeds, I doubt we will be seeing widespread home internet plans with 1Gbps any time soon...

I know its made for fast internet, you are probably right on the speed. I just thought they are built to last longer(beter build quality) & have a more solid overall signal(weither regular or fast speed).

You didn't tell us what interface speed you were expecting :p

Any reasonably priced cat 5e or 6 patch should do gigabit fine.

1000 mbps is 1000 mbps even if you spend $2 or $200.

Unless you're doing a lot of huge file transfers within your house or have some insane internet connection, yeah 5E or 6 is the way to go.
