What terrible things do you have about Windows 8? How can we say if Win 8.1 will be any different for you if we don't know what issues you're having now?

I remember when my GF was hesitating for the update tyo 8.1 because she heard that it bugged some computers. Well 8.0 had a lot of bugs and some softwares weren't working correctly or just crashing. When I upgraded to 8.0, I then installed 8.1 and it was as stable as 7 so I made her do the update. It works perfectly now.

I did hear a lot of bad things, but most of it was hearsay and I'm happy with 8.1. Very stable OS.

Windows 8 was pretty bad when it was first released, and many people hated being forced to learn a new UI. 8.1 fixed many of these issues, and is more stable now. I run it and have no problems.

It's just an OS.

If you aren't super picky you will realize 8.1 and 7 offer pretty much the same experience.

If you don't like Win 8.0, you probably won't like Win 8.1 as there isn't a huge difference between the two.

Windows 8.0 and 8.1 i hate stock,I have to make it more like Windows 7 completely turning off Metro or whatever they now call it now, and disabling the stupid and pointless swipe screen before the login screen & removing everything else that's "App" style that il never use that's using disk space.

But now that i have,It feels exactly like Windows 7 but better,Faster.

If your running Windows 7 currently, personally I wouldn't say its really worth upgrading yet,Wait for Windows 10.

thank you all. In regards to the person who was asking what issues I've had with it, well I've pretty much never used windows 8 so I'm not sure on the details, I just heard a lot of people saying that it made them want to throw their computer out the window. Good to know that they finally fixed it up in 8.1. I don't think I'll be upgrading to 8.1 though in reference to the person who said it's not worth the upgrade from 7, but I might try windows 10.

I agree with Shane. If you like windows 7 and the layout you likely won't like windows 8.1. Wait for windows 10 (I believe the start menu is coming back).

I do run Windows 8.1 but, I have tweaked with multiple tools to my liking. Not worth the hassle though.

Having had to quickly use 8 again on some machines in order to install 8.1 onto them, you can definitely see how many changes were made to the OS with 8.1. It's little things like the better searching and the power button on the Start Screen and the ability to use the desktop wallpaper as the Start Screen background that you forget that 8 didn't have. Whilst they are are similar in terms of how they generally work, there is a lot that was added in 8.1 that really improved 8.

I used 8 for quite a while and really liked it when it was the current version of Windows, but having used 8.1 for a year and a half now, I could never go back to using 8 and using 8 again can be an annoying and frustrating experience for me now.
