Hey guys,
So what do you think about BF1? I think it's fantastic, GOTY 2016 for me by far, it's not perfect but very addictive. I was worried when I heard that it will be a WW1 Game but Dice handled the transition from modern day to WW1 pretty well. The only thing I dislike about it being a WW1 game tbh is the lack of weapon variety, hopefully they will add more in the DLCs. I'm surprised there is no BF1 thread on this forum yet so feel free to talk about it here.

I found it very meh. I barely play it. I liked BF2 and BFBC2. Those were the first two BF games I played. Both brilliant. BF3 was very bleh. BF4 and HL I didn't play. BF1 I find veeeerry boring and I don't find the graphics to be that good honestly. I think Battlefront, which uses the same engine and is older, looks better. This game is just very boring to me. Overwatch is WAAAAAY more fun IMO.

Agreed. I don't know what happened but BF4 and Hardline didn't look as good as BF3 IMO, BF1 finally matched it, but like you said Battlefront looks even better.

I absolutely hated it when I first started and I've played every BF game to date. It's improved heavily in the last couple patches though imo. My only real complaints about it at this point are it feels like a console port not having real private servers and I find I have no reason to play Assault since they nerfed the hell out of the shotguns. There's only a handful of maps where I don't completely get my ass kicked as Assault and I can still do better with any other class due to being able to shoot at a decent range with other classes. That said, I can only complain about that but so much since I only play 200% hardcore, there's not a lot of server options and most don't have infantry rifles enabled. I wish they would, I'd be more apt to play Assault if I could use a standard rifle with the class.

I've gotten stupid good with the light tank with the Howitzer package though. The Howitzer has a stupid short range, but the tank is mobile enough with repairs and smoke that I can pop in and out of cover to take on bigger tanks and the machine gun is accurate enough I can sit in a high spot and rack up kills pretty easily. Just finished up a game 27-0 steamrolling people in the tank. Close game too, we only won by 10 or 20 points.

Well for me this is a good thing. In BF4 I was getting kicked and banned all the time for using "no skill" weapons/gadgets like the Mortar, or camping in the base with the AA, or getting mad and saying something in the chat that the admin dislikes etc.
When it comes to performance it worked flawlessly when I had a single 1080, 50-60 FPS on ultra at 4K. When I added the second 1080, everything started flickering. This is an issue 90% of the SLI/CF users had. They fixed it in a patch but the performance was just marginally better than a single 1080. I played around with the nVidia inspector and got it to work properly.

In 4 I just stuck to Banzore or MiG servers, both had no rules against any sort of weapons or anything. Just the usual no racism in chat. For 1st party servers it's not a horrible system, but it sucks we can't have anything like shotguns or pistols only, real auto balance, active moderation, ect.

So the first DLC is out, what do you guys think about it? I personally like everything about it except one of the new operations. Too many tanks in it.f
