laptop shut down during windows update

sorry if this in wrong section

my toshiba laptop batery is dead during windows update.
when press the power button.power light is on but the screen just black.cant go to safe mode or bios

tried hard reset but still not working

how to solve this,and what is the worst possibilities(should need hardware replacement or my laptop is dead)?

If you remove hard drive does the machine boot up? My guess would be yes. If so, you have a bad hard drive due to power failure.

i tried,but screen still dead.not even error word appear

Still cant go to safe mode n bios

What model is it?

Are you sure it isn't just the backlight?

Shine a flashlight on the screen when booting up to see if you can see an image.

Can't believe a screen would die because of a power outage. Probably gonna have to take it in and have them figure out whats wrong.

Was curious if the battery actually died or if the backlight went out giving the image that it died but it was still working. Could also apply to situations like the motherboard shitting itself and giving the appearance the battery died.

@buhuehue it shouldn't be bricked after a battery death, have you tried booting without the battery? Have you ever had charge circuit problems? What was the battery percentage like approximately before it died? Y u no plug in for updates and general usage? If you hook it up to an external monitor and boot, do you get any sort of image out of that?

Most of the troubleshooting has been pretty vague.
