Homemade 10 $ Linux machine :D

Hello World,

I just wanted to share with you the computer I made using parts I collected from 4 broken computers. It is my first build and it is obviously just for fun (I allready have a decent laptop). The specs are the following:

Motherboard-intel desktop board (I can't seem to find the exact model)
CPU-intel core 2 quad (2.66GHz)
RAM-4GB DDR2 Kingston
Graphics-Asus EN8400gs
PSU-450W hec psu
Storage-160Gb HD
Software-Ubuntu 16.04 amd64

The only part I had to buy was the HD for 10$. I would like to thank @Deadpool for all his help in my first project. (Sorry for my bad english, it is not my native language).

Looks awesome :D Have you been able to check your CPU temps? They´ll probably be at 60C since you have no paste. I´m glad to see you could finish the proyect!

I am pretty sure there is paste, the cpu I used was allready installed with the cooler etc... The paste is probably in bad shape but it is there.

I'd heavily advise a cleaning of the CPU and heatsink and fresh thermal paste.

So the temps are :
CPU:42-48 C for all 4 cores
HDD:29 C
PCI:48 C

I will put new thermal paste soon :D

edit:

I now have:
CPU:46-51 C for all 4 cores

It says that the max safe temp is 89 C is that real? It looks too high!

Well actually those temps are not soo bad. I have the same CPU without paste and it's on 60C constantly. I really don't use that PC anymore because of that. You should apply some anyways.
