Asus Monitor stays in standby after interaction

I'm trying to narrow down a problem I've been having with my monitors. I have a MSI 980 Ti Lightning graphics card and three Asus VG248QE monitors connected using the display ports. Whenever my computer turns off the monitors to save power, sometimes one, two, or all the monitors don't come back on when I touch my mouse. The power lights on the monitors that won't turn on are orange, and none of the buttons including the power button respond. To fix the problem, I have to unplug the Displayport AND the power cable from the affected monitors until it's off and plugging them back in resolves the issue, but of course it'll occur again if the power management turns them off. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I was reading about Displayports not being certified and there's a pin 20 that provides power back and forth and I'm not sure if mine isn't certified so that might cause the problem.
The cables I got: https://www.amazon.com/UGREEN-DisplayPort-Plated-Version-Resolution/dp/B00B2HOVK0

tl;dr My graphics card is the problem.

I believe I am having a similar problem.

Have you had the chance yet to replace the DP cables and see if it helps?

Very curious of your outcome.

Do you stay in a 'down' state after manually doing a Windows key+p for extend?

Do you have another monitor to test out this theory? I just don't see how a cable would cause you to have to unplug the monitor to get it working again.
