WIndows 10 Transfering files between Laptops

I have a brand new laptop and am attempting to move some excell files from the old to new.

I thought doing this by sending attachments in an email would suffice, but when I get the email in BT Mail on the new laptop it shows the attachment sign, when I click on it it asks to be download, but does not say where to, so not sure how I can get the attachments into my folders ?

Could someone please advise.

Don't use email. Use a USB flash drive to transfer files. If you are using firefox as your browser, you can go into settings and choose where to save to or ask each time where to save it.
