Hi all,
My desktop has Windows 7 (home) installed on it; but it will not open my PlayBook, a common problem I understand;
so, I would like to install Windws XP on the same drive, in a way that allows me to access XP from Windows 7.
Is this possible?.

You would have to create a dual boot installation. It will be a little bit more involved since you already have 7 on there. Google search "how to create a dual boot with windows xp and windows 7 with windows 7 already installed".

Are you positive that the software isn't compatible with windows 7? Have you tried changing the compatibility options? I can post more instructions when I get home from work.

Hi johnb,
Yes, I'm pretty sure it won't work. The guys on Crackberry tell me that the only only thing which will work for sure is XP. I have tried everything I can think of, and have only succeeded in getting access to it, from my old Windows XP machine. I've also tried the compatibility options, and failed.
Thanks for your help.

Putting it in a VM like with VirtualBox would probably be easiest, assuming your host machine is new enough to support virtualization extensions on the CPU and has enough RAM to facilitate a guest operating system.

Hi beers,
I 'think' it will support a VirtualBox? It's an old desktop HP Pavillion a1640n with 8 GB of ram, a 64bit OS and a 128 GB SSD, of which 60+ GB is free space.
What do you think?
