As long as each DIY thread was approved by our staff, I vote yes.

We don't need "crappy" DIY articles with bad instructions and such. But a well explained idea, with pictures and good insturctions is always helpful.

I'd vote to have a FEW small guidelines for each article, have it be approved by staff, then posted and Stickied in the DIY section. ALL posts thereafter need to be on topic and beneficial to the thread. Even closing a DIY thread after it's been posted is sometimes a good idea, to keep it clutter free.

Rules like it needs to be in English, it needs to have proper grammar and punctuation, and it needs to include pictures (98% of the time).

logically thinking

I wish we could post pics of our DIY setup of Desktops PCs...
Or maybe pics of a DIY cooling system for our CPUs,or just anything that is very unique to see:)

i think ubuntu has one of those, or maybe it is gimp. Either way, so long as they are meaningfull and informative, as opposed to a retard writing them, i see it as good.

I like the idea. Nothing better then sharing knowledge that you can learn from! We won't have so many posts of "How do you build a computer??" either if we had a DIY section^^

ditto to what 4w4k3 said

and to prevent clutter the DIY thread can have its own comment thread which of course is linked but doesn't have to be stickied (i.e. like what bit-tech does to its news articles)

I got the impression that this entire Computer Forum site was DIY! Isn't that why we're here, to set up, run, and fix our PCs by ourselves, and swap ideas if someone runs into a jam?
