Don't get a Pentium D, get a Core 2 Duo, perhapse E4400 or E6300. Also, instead of getting the 7950 GT, see if you can get the 8800GTS 320mb, it will perform MUCH better. Last of all, I suggest getting a better powersupply.

I understand that money is an object. I'm not the one to ask about power. What are you going to be using the PC for and what OS is it going to run? If your going to do something like gaming on it you will want to have Core2Duo, but my PC is functioning fine with PentiumIII. Vista might not run on the CPU your looking at.

I don't know anything about the power. As far as your CPU goes, you might want at least Core Duo (I took a look at the game website and it looks like it is pretty high graphics). I can't really tell you if Pentium is good enough because I don't play computer games. Vista has had a good amount of time and I use it and like it a lot (for Windows that is).

Pentium D uses is based on netburst architecture, which is pretty old considering first generation Pentium 4's used them. Core 2 duo, on the other hand, uses the much newer core architecture, which is more efficient and processes more information per clock cycle than netburst.

@JordanII: It's kinda hard to tfind coreduo processors right now. They were made for laptops, and were used in laptop between centrino's and core2duos. They never had a firm foothold to begin with.

Oh, OK. I use it a Dell E1505 sometimes and it runs really smooth, but if it can't be found, oh well.

Ah but they use Socket M which is not compatiable with LGA775 or Socket 478. I believe Gigabyte make a motherboard that can support mobile proecssors.
