Seems that there is a mod for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. that "In short, the list of improvements features better bump mapping, real time calculared [sic] specular effects, full reflection vector calculations, soft shadow quality has been vastly improved and this is not all.
All of these improvements will not kill the frame rate, but rather cost either nothing or improve the frame rate by 20% or even more. "
