WoW Killer?

With my account now dead and the addiction now over with I have thought about the new upcoming MMO's and how they will compare to WoW. One sticks out in my mind like a sore thumb, and that is the Warhammer MMO. I seriously think this game will KILL, OBILTERATE, and DESTROY WoW. I talked about this with my buddies, all of which play WoW and they were pissed and gave me crap for speaking bad about WoW. So what do you guys think, what game will be the next WoW killer?

I'm a real big fan of WoW, and I'm sorry man but I'm gonna have to go with your friends on this one =/

The only reason being is that WoW is so popular because of the warcraft series.. The warhammer series arn't nearly as popular as the ones Blizz has been rolling out.

I thought Vanguard was gonna be great... =/

I still think Warhammer is gonna kill WoW. Yes the Warcraft universe is large, but WoW is getting older by the day. People will start to get tired of the new Xpo (the Expansion that supposedly was to last for another 6 months to a year) and Blizz's plans of another Expo are not in the picture. There will be a game to answer the call.

you could try Guild Wars, i know these two can't really be compared but no monthly subscription is definitely a plus and they are planning to come up with new expansion really soon. so... worth giving it a try.

I really hate wow altho I'm one of the most loyal blizzard fans. but seriouse this game is boring as hell to me. I really hate mmorpg. but how ever tho its still a very successful game just like all other blizzard made. I'm pretty sure that it will go on to 10 million in matter effect time. I dont think war hammer has what it takes to kill wow, but I see more possibiliy from hell gate london instead. but who care lol blizzard is finally announcing either starcraft 2 or diablo 3 on world wide invitation in may at korea. either one of this title is already garenty to out sell wow at no time.

World of Warcraft is an okay game. I play it a bit, not that much. As far as I'm concerned, nothing can kill it at this point. The userbase is too strong, even though Blizzard is commiting suicide with all the banning for no reason, World PVP issues, etc. etc. but at this point too many people play WoW for it to become unpopular.

Warhammer is actually very popular as it is also a table top war game, so I think the loyal warhammer table top game fans will also play the warhammer MMO, so it is possibility that it couls catch on.

I really hope blizzard release a warcraft IV cos ive been waiting for ages now and i know even before they release it that its gonna be really popular.

it will be a long time before any game takes down Wow. I played Wow since its release, just since BC expansion i have canceled my account but nothing can compete with it.

Hmm, a new Warcraft RTS would be nice. And Orange, where did you hear that SC II or Diablo III are going to come out in the future?

Its all over the internet on most of the diablo and starcraft fan site. I list some very popular one(gosugamers.net and diablo3.com). they all have info that blizzard is going to announce a new project on may 19th 2007 at seoul korea. which is the homeland of starcraft fans. (South korea acturally air starcraft pro league match on tv and stuff like that. sc is a very famouse sport in south korea.) and on a korean website they already clearfy that the upcoming project to be announce at wwi is going to sc2. altho blizzard didn't amit it but how ever the place they select for wwi almost just clearly told us the new game in the making is going to be sc2. how ever tho there always a possibility for upset on warcrap(yes I'm pretty sure no more of this crap), diablo III or a brand new series of game(which highly unlikely). how ever we'll all wait and see on may 19 which is just 3 weeks away. but I be happy on either sc2 or diabloIII being announce tho. I love both series.

blizz has its big boy pants on, where they can do pretty much anything to anyone and they know they still have 8 million more people, they are to high of themselves, and ive played since beta, but quit in january.

hmmm...I wonder if they will be smart, like they were with World of Warcraft and make DIII or SC2 an easy game to run on most systems. I think that was one of WoW's major +'s, the fact that the average PC user could pick it up and play it pretty well graphics wise. If indeed you are correct, I pull for a SC2, I will install SC again and play through the campeigns to refresh my memory.

You have to wonder... SC is way more popular then WC, yet they made 3 + a MMO, but only one SC.. i know WC is their first big one, but still..

Wow will be a Money maker for blizz for years to come, take a look at Ultima online that came out like 12 years ago and alot of people still play it, it was a bad ass game in its time...

With WoW's recent (6 months ago or more being recent =/) expansion, the game has gone from being fun (random 5man runs, collecting 8 piece sets, and exploiting the terrain to get into uncharted areas of course) to a farm-fest. All there is to do now is farm rep, farm money, farm arena/honor points, or farm for BoE epics. =/ Exploiting has been fully removed to (as well as some of the "uncharted" areas being released in the expansion) so it's become pretty lame. After playing WoW for 2+ years now, it's finally apparent to me just how repetitive and lame it's gotten.

Well, essentially you could have said the same thing about Everquest and WoW but at the same time, I know a friend that, up until recently, still played the original Everquest. The fact is that there will always be an audience..... -er gamers that will buy certain games. The fact is that WoW is a popular game that tailors to a wide range of consumers. Heck, I know jocks and football players who play WoW. WoW, in a sense, defeats the the whole nerdy D&D, fantasy, role playing persona. It's also a fairly low, resource game that will allow virtually any computer with a graphics card of some sort to play. A reason why Everquest never got as popular as it did. It will be interesting how Warhammer will play out because, personally, I really don't know anybody who got into that, let alone, myself.

Edit: Also, on a personal note, one reason that might deter(?) me from playing Warhammer is the fact that it's produced(?) by EA which I have personally had bad experiences with. Many EA games I've played were high resource games and very glitchy.
