eBay Sucks!

I knew eBay was bad, but not this bad.

I was selling an item on eBay with one day left, then it got removed from eBay because it said "Like new" in the title. What kind of BS is that?

This is the message I got from eBay:

The listing was removed because it violated the eBay Keyword Spamming policy. The violation occurred when you included the following information in your listing:

LIKE NEW

We notified members who placed bids on the item that the listing has been canceled.

Keyword spamming is the practice of placing inappropriate words in searchable text to draw attention to Web content. To ensure that members' searches produce relevant results, sellers are not permitted to put brand names or other inappropriate keywords in a listing title or description for the purpose of attracting members to a listing. Sellers can only include a brand name under certain limited conditions.

Sellers can use brand names or keywords only if they relate directly to the item that is being offered in the listing. eBay doesn't permit sellers to use unrelated keywords because they may confuse and mislead buyers.

Mate, that's a disgrace!
Did you still have to play your startup fee thing?
Surely if it broke the rules then they could have notified you, then changed the title!

What kind of BS? Well a whole heard of bulls!

If that's caused by some automatic thing, a slight modification might work.

"lik3 new"
"similar to being new" lol

or a misspelling/typo "likr new" :p

I couldn't imagine they'd have people looking through all adds for variants of "like new". But then again  ...

What a stupid word filter, I mean when someone mistakes "like new" for new there obviously idiots and shouldn't be using the interweb.

I believe it was because they say the words "Like new" don't have anything to do with the item itself. They say it should only be used to describe the item, which I don't see how that was wrong of me to say.

Now if I was selling say an E6300, the title shouldn't say "E6300 NOT QX9650".

Ebay has dumb rules but I still like ebay. Sometime you can get stuff on there that has crossed out serial numbers! Not good My friend received a new nextel cell phone on ebay and the serial tag was removed so the nextel store wouldnt work on it.
