What would I need to upgrade in my computer to get higher FPS online? It would be my graphics card right?

It depends mate, generally it would be the GPU. But if you have a rubbish CPU and not much RAM then you'll be seriously bottlenecked.

Can you post your specs?

Uhh i found this...
CPU:AMD Athalon XP 2800+
RAM:256MB (Even I know that's horrible...)
Graphics card (Graphics card,GPU and GFX are the same thing aren't they?): NVIDIA GeForce FX 5100.
That's all i could find.

What kinds of games are you trying to play? That is an extremely old system, it's really not worth trying to upgrade.

You would not be able to launch COD4, haha.

Seriously though, you would need a much faster processor, at least 1GB of RAM, and at least a 7600/x1650. Why don't you use money from a job? I started working beginning of sophomore year making about $100 a week.

Yeah actually I have a job that pays $10/hr under the table, but I don't work alot since it's yard work and my boss is done by the time im out of school. This summer though i'm sure i'll be making loads. And what is a 7600/x1650? haha i'm new to computers and trying to learn as much as possible.

Sorry, those are model video cards. The 7600 is from nVidia and the x1650 is from ATI, those are really the bare minimum that I would go.

I would go for an 8600gt! They are only $70. I would save up your money and get a new pc such as an HP, Acer, or Gateway as upgrading the pc you have is not worth the money or time! You could get a decent hp or acer for about $500-600 and then add an 8600gt and power supply for another $100-125 and you would have the same system as me and be rocking out all the latest games no prob.

Well, to make space you would need to un-install any program that you don't need. Otherwise, you could get CCleaner to clean up any junk files that you have accumulated over the years. You would be surprised at how much stuff you can clear up using CCleaner.

btw, here is the link to download the program:
http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/

Just click on "Download Latest Version" and install it then run it.
